Cleric Urges Osun Residents To Be Optimistic Over Aregbesola’s Appeal
Jul 6th, 2010 | By admin | Category: NEWSOSUN State residents have been called upon to remain calm and be optimistic ahead of the Action Congress gubernatorial candidate, Engineering Rauf Aregbesola‘s petition’s hearing at the Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The call was made by a cleric of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ota-Efun, Prophet Adebayo Adeniran during the weekend in Osogbo, the state capital.
He disclosed that the setback the petition suffered at the retrial tribunal was not an attestation that the people’s prayers were not answered by God, but a way of putting their faith to test.
He further stated that what the people of the state are currently going through could be likened to what the Israelites experienced during the reign of Pharaoh in Egypt, adding that the persecution would definitely come to an end soonest.
The cleric also urged members of the public, whose interest is to witness improved living condition and good governance, not to relent in their prayers.
According to him, God answers prayers in different ways.
Adeniran commended the efforts of the masses, especially their perseverance in the face of perennial oppression in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) –led administration in the state.
He also called on politicians to make the fear of God their watchword, so that the future generations would not suffer the consequences of their current actions.
The cleric disclosed that no action, whether good or bad, would go unquestioned whether in this life orlife after.
Osun State residents are hopeful that the injustice of the Election Petition Retrial Tribunal would be corrected by the appellate court, which would sit on the petition the second time.
The clerics however called on the masses to remain ‘prayerful, adding that prayer is the key to all human problems’.
