Osun Ready To Distribute ‘OPON-IMO’, Computer Tablets To Students

opon imoThe Government of the State of Osun under the leadership of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has concluded plans for the distribution of the computer tablets tagged “Opon Imo”

The revelation was made on Friday by the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Education, Mr Oyelade Oyeniran, he said computer tablets also known as ‘Opon Imon’ would soon be distributed to students in public schools in the state.

Oyeniran in an interview in Osogbo noted that the tablets had been acquired, saying, “what remains is to commence its distribution once the state governor launches it.”

According to him, the distribution of the tablets will start with SS 3 students preparing for their SSCE and NECO examinations.

“Service and repairs centres will be available with trained engineers to take care of issues relating to the maintenance of the tablets,” he added.

The computer tablets, he said, contain all subjects, past questions and additional traditional subjects.

Oyeniran also disclosed that the state government had commenced payment of N216 million as bursary allowances to its final year students in tertiary institutions nationwide.

“Each of the students will receive N10, 000 bursary allowance, with each medical student getting N20,000 while final year law students will get N100, 000 each,” he added.

    I appreciate d great work my gov. is doing specially in d area of Education. Sir my only advice in regard of our Education is that the retired teachers should be replaced with qualified and competent teachers so the O’SCHOOLS project wil be successfully accomplished. TESCOM/TEPO should consider only d qualified applicants. I pray 4 more inspirations 4 your government. WELL DONE SIR
