A pressure group under the aegis of Coalition for National Development has advised youths in the Niger Delta area to support federal government’s initiatives to transform them rather that opposing programmes designed to change their lives for better.
The National Coordinator of the group, Mr Femi Osabinu gave the advice and appealed to the youths in the area to shun any attempt by any politician to use them against the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affair, Mr. Kingsley Kuku.
The group in a press statement urged youths in the Niger Delta area to shun a proposed protest against Kuku as such clandestine move it is the handiwork of selfish individuals and politically motivated.
According to the statement by the group, our attention has been drawn to an attempt by a particular group named Niger Delta Activist Forum to stage a 500-man protest tagged ‘Kuku must go’ for no reason and such thing must be discouraged without hesitation.
Our organization therefore condemns such act and urges the youths in the Niger Delta area and the entore members of the public to disregard such act and consider it as politically motivated since it is the handiwork of the political jobbers and sponsored by selfish politicians.
The amnesty project is seen nationally and internationally as a huge success and why would any patriotic Nigerian give it a bad name?
Furthermore, we encourage Hon Kingsely Kuku not to relent in his effort to restore absolute peace to the Niger Delta, the statement read.
