…Fear Grips Victim’s Mother Over IBK’s Appearance In Court

Apr 26th, 2010 | By Bankole Alao David | Category: NEWS

The appearance of Ilesa-West Local Government Council Area of Osun State chairman, Mr. Ibukun Fadipe, in court on Tuesday, for his alleged involvement in raping and dehumanizing a 13-year- old girl, Tosin Ajakaiye, has sent fear into the victim and her mother, Mrs, Deboral Ajakaye, as they panicked over likely attack by the council boss.

Fadipe, who was ordered to appear before the State High Court, sitting in Ilesa, in the suit instituted against him and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Gani Oladiran by Ajakaiye, came to the court in his official car.

His arrival at the court premises at 9:00am changed the walking steps and sittings of members of the court audience both in and outside the court room.

Particularly, the mother of the victim and two members of Ilesa chapter of the Action Congress (AC) known as Lasun and Sikiru Gbadamosi, who came to solidarise with Ajakaiye, had to leave the court room before Fadipe got in there.

The victim was brought to court amidst high vigilance by her mother and the AC members.

Ajakaiye and her loyalists deserted the seat row where Fadipe was sitting.

After the conclusion of the matter, Ajakaiye, her mother and the two members of the AC found it difficult to leave the court room.

They expressed the fear that they might be attacked by Fadipe’s thugs outside the court premises.

Thirty minutes after Fadipe had left the court, they still remained in the court premises discussing with their lawyer, Mr. Tajudeen Akingbolu.

Specifically, Ajakaiye said she would not sleep at her residence, saying that she was not safe as the council boss had appeared in court and sighted her.

Palpable fear also gripped her mother and those that came for solidarity as they panicked on what might be the aftermath of Fadipe’s appearance in court.

It would be recalled that Ajakaiye and her mother had been reporting many threats to their lives by the PDP thugs, who were allegedly threatening to kill them if they failed to withdraw the case.

One of the hoodlums of the PDP known as Tunde Bakassi, was alleged of waylaying Ajakaiye on the road and threatening to kill her.

Series of criminal allegations have been levelled against Fadipe, ranging from murder, thuggery, assault, threat to life and misconduct.

The council boss was recently accused of killing the DHL Chairman, Chief Ade Komolafe and a former PDP chairman in Ilesa-East Local Government Council Area, Pa Agboola Obadare.

Besides, Fadipe stunned the court’s audience on Tuesday with his grammar while being cross-examined, as he continued defying the rules and use of English Language.

He used singular for plural, present tense for past and present continuous tense for past participles.

Parts of his grammatical blunders were: “We was. When my party nominate me for ——I am always going to Akure to visit my fiance at every weekend as at then. I was invite by the police. I am not at Ilesa when the incident occurred.”

  1. I pitied the poor lad ,may God be her counsel!

  2. One wonders whether the choice of Ibukun Fadipe was hinged on his ability to dispense terror at will on innocent people or lack of better candidate in PDP. In an enlightened society like Ilesa one will naturally expect a better candidate and not this animal in human skin.
