2011 General Elections: ACPP Battle-ready For Poll Riggers

Mar 30th, 2010 | By Bankole Alao David | Category: Tits Bits

Osun State Chapter of Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) has insisted on preventing the election riggers in 2011 general elections by all means.

Delivering a speech in Osogbo on Monday, the state chairman of the group, Alhaji Sule Alao said the group was hell-bent in frustrating poll riggers in the forthcoming general elections.

He noted that his group would soon embark on a sensitization drive of the masses; saying that riggers should prepare for the task.

“We have realized that the poll riggers are unrepentant and daring, but their days of reckoning are here and we challenge them to change over a new leaf, because it would not be easy for them,” stressed Alao.

The ACPP chairman who doubles as the state chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party further kicked against the way the National Assembly was handling the electoral reform.

Alao noted that the masses would be mobilized against the law that cows the rights and priviledges of the electorate, insisting that the vote should be made to count in the future.

“The National Assembly has started handling the Electoral Reform Bill and we know that some fraudulent politicians who found their way to the parliament would want to play funny, but I can assure you that it will not be business as usual again”.

Speaking in the same vein, the state chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Comrade Rufus Oyatoro has asked the politicians to watch their attitudinal approach to the electoral reform, arguing that the attitude of the politicians would dictate the workability of the electoral reform.

“We may be debating electoral reform, but I would want our politicians to watch it, because electoral reform without attitudinal reform is nothing to write home about,” Oyatoro said.

  1. This set of National Assembly members can not carry out any meaningful electoral reform. This is simply because they are beneficiaries of the bad electoral system in the country. Their sincerity is doubted by their attitudes towards the call for the removal of INEC chairman, Prof Iwu WURUWURU. The immediate removal of Prof Wuruwuru is the beginning of the genuine electoral reform in Nigeria.
