Charge Ibukun Fadipe For Robbery – Komolafe Tells CP

Nov 21st, 2009 | By admin | Category: NEWS, Tits Bits

The founder, DHL International Nigeria Limited, Chief Ade Komolafe who was recently attacked with six members of his family at a petrol filling station in Ilesa, has appealed to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Moronike to hasten the process of charging the suspects of the attack with armed robbery.

Komolafe who was speaking with OSUN DEFENDER in his Ilesa country home on Friday said the circumstances surrounding the attack could not be anything but armed robbery as the principal suspect of the robbery allegation, Ibukun Fadipe notoriously known as ‘Omo Oloka’ opened the bonnet of the jeep in which the victims were, with the intention to disposess them of the exalted car.

Fadipe is the sacked but sit-tight council chairman of Ilesa-West Local Government Council Area of the state; he has history of numerous violent attacks in the area.

The DHL boss wondered what could have been the motive behind Fadipe’s intention to open the bonnet of the jeep if not for him wanting to snatch it; moreso, when he found out that there were six women in the vehicle.

He said, contrary to insinuations in some quarters that the attack had political undertone, it could not be true as he was not a partisan politician.

Komolafe’s words: “The attack was pure robbery. It couldn’t have been politically-motivated as I am not a politician. I am not even a cad-carrying member of any political party. I did not even register for voting in any part of Osun State. It was in Lagos I registered. How come I could have been a target of political attack?

“What pained me most was that my mother-in-law who was visiting my country home for the first time was subjected to public ignominy by the robbery suspects to the extent that she was assaulted to the point of forcing three teeth out of her mouth. If some rascals could do this to a 62-year-old grandmother, there is nobody who is safe in their hands. It was nothing but a robbery case.

“If not that Ibukun was resisted by a 17-year-old boy who challenged him when he wanted to forcefully open the car bonnet, the principal robbery suspect and members of his gang would have made away with the vehicle.

“In the interest of peace and tranquility, I am imploring the state police command to hasten actions in arraigning the suspects without further delay as any minute wasted could spell doom for other innocent people who might be similarly attacked and robbed. Help me tell the people out there that I am not a politician. It was not a political attack but robbery”.

Last Sunday, Ibukun led some gun, machete and cudgel-wielding miscreants who forcefully wanted to open the bonnet of a jeep belonging to Komolafe at a petrol filling station in Ilesa.

When Ibukun was challenged, he attacked and injured no fewer than six members of Komolafe’s family including the DHL boss himself. In the melee, Ibukun and his miscreants allegedly dispossessed the victims of various items like mobile phone machines, expensive trinkets and wrist-watches.

Some of the victims of the alleged robbery attack are: Chief (Mrs) Bolaji Komolafe, wife of the DHL boss who was beaten to stupour; 62-year-old mother-in-law of Komolafe, Mrs Adijat Olagunju from whose mouth three teeth were forcefully removed; 21-year-old Mr Yinka Olagunju; 35-year-old Mr. Saheed Ahmed and Mr Tunde Olagunju.

In a similar development, the issue at stake has started taking its toll on the extended family members of the alleged robbery principal suspect, according to information gathered from sources close to Ijesa Sports Club in Ilesa.

It was gathered that Ibukun’s father who is a member of the prestigious Ilesa-based social club has been threatened with suspension because of the anti-social activities of his son against Komolafe, the patron of the club.

Investigations showed that the unsuspecting father of the embattled sacked council chairman was in the club where he called for service but was denied based on the nefarious activities of his son

It was also gathered that the club has been perfecting its papers with a view to suing Fadipe over Komolafe and members of his family, in a court of law.
