EMBATTLED Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State as well as local government council chairmen across the state have been told to quit governance if they do not know what to do or they lack capacity to do what should be done to move the state forward.
The Bishop, Ijesa North Missionary Diocese, Rt. Rev. Titus Fajemirokun threw the challenge in a paper presented marking the beginning of Jesus Festival Programme held at Saint Mathew Cathedral Church, Ijebu-Jesa at the weekend.
According to the Bishop, it was sad to see the governments at the three tiers playing politics with poverty ravaging Nigerians without them proffering solutions, while corruption, fraudulent practices, crime at the highest dimension take over the country, stating that the church could not fold its hands to see the action of the people continuing unabated.
The Bishop stated further that the aim and objective of the festival was to bring relief to all people, irrespective of political or religious differences.
He said that government lacked maintenance culture as government infrastructure including road network were in a deplorable condition that was adversely affecting the economy of the state.
Fayemirokun who quoted a newspaper report recently from Northern Elders that called on President Umaru Yar’ Adua to quit governance, said that the call pointed to the fact that the country was treading on the path of a “failed state”, stating that efforts of the church to improve communities, people and even the leadership of the nation had not been taken seriously, hence the church has to take the issue seriously now.
Worse still, the Bishop stated that the House of Representatives’ committee report recently also revealed that 85 per cent of road network are impassable.

i wish to say that we Christian should be praying for our leaders in Nigerian in order to rule according the wisdom given by God, so to be an ifluncials to our generation even generation to come and make our country Nigeria the best
They are not visionary leaders. They believe only in cheating and stealing. God will deliver us from their hands.
we christian should depend on God most in every thind we doing, in Nigeria the Rich are becoming more richer while the poor are more poorer, no one cares to look into their probles.
my prayer is that God should give us passionet leaders and God fearing ones, we don’t need selfish ones.
They don’t need to tell him to quit.He is going to be disgrace out of that office one day by the grace of God.
