Ipetumodu Sets To Raise N500m For Community Development


Eminent Nigerians from both within and outside the country will this Saturday converge on Ipetumodu, headquarters of Ife North Local Government Area of State of Osun for this year’s Ipetumodu Day celebrations.

The celebration which is an annual event organized by the Ipetumodu Progressive Union will hold at the Origbo High School, Ipetumodu.

According to the chairman, 2012 Ipetumodu Day celebration, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, all indigenes of the town from all walks of life are expected to grace the occasion and contribute through the occasion to the development of the town.

Oyatomi who said all arrangements have been concluded by the community to ensure a successful celebration, hinted that guests were invited from across the country to grace the occasion.

He said a sum of N500 million is expected to be raised at the occasion, adding that the money would be used for the building of Ipetumodu Civic Centre, which will be first of its kind in the state.

Oyatomi also stated that the money realized at the occasion would be used for the development of the town.
He said the Apetu of Ipetumodu, Oba James Adegoke, will host all the dignitaries at the occasion, while the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, will be the Special Guest of honour at the occasion.
