wole okeThe State of Osun Commissioner for Finance, Economic Planning and Budget, Honourable Wale Bolorunduro, has taken a swipe at the former Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Honourable Wole Oke, on what he described as illogical criticism of Aregbesola’s administration.

He described the recent comment by the former lawmaker as irresponsible, diversionary and complete statement of imagination.

Oke was reported in the media recently, to have criticised Governor Aregbesola’s public policies, claiming that some of the governor’s programmes were not well-taught out in the last two and a half years.

Bolorunduro, while speaking to journalists on the economic plans of the state, advised the former lawmaker to publicly admit to intellectual superiority of the current administration, saying that with the developmental realities in the state, his false claims would not appeal to the peoples’ emotion.
He stressed that international and national financial agencies have rated the state as one of the most economically viable in the country, with the international standard of transparency and accountability.
The commissioner further stated that before 2007 election, the governor had already mapped out his six-point integral action plan, which has stabilised the economy of the state with massive infrastructural development and now even expanding the national economy.

He reiterated that despite the fact that industries are folding up across the nation, on the contrary, industries are springing up in Osun, now the state has the largest sewing factory in Nigeria, (Omoluabi Garment Factory), sand dredging factory and hotels springing up across the state.

“The unemployment rate has been reduced to the barest minimum, through OYES. Our informal workers are actively engaged in construction sites all over the state. Food price has been stable in the last two and a half years. These are the economic indicators for a developing state,” he observed.
He added that if not that court terminated Oyinlola’s regime, he would have retrenched workers, and would have completely collapsed the economy of the state, because the administration was borrowing N1 billion every month to pay the workers’ salaries.

“But in our own case, we have not retrenched any worker. We are paying minimum wage, recently approved relativity and even employ more workers, the magic of our financial mechanism is their dilemma and it will continue to be, because they lack intellectual capacity to drive the state,” he stated.
“Wole Oke is far below an individual that could engage Aregbesola, as he lacks such mental capacity. Instead, some of us will engage him and put him to shame in minutes. The economy realities in the state are more than enough to showcase at any level”, the commissioner said.
